Special Notices

We will have a visiting priest from South America
here on March 21 to give a presentation
about Food for the Poor.

World Day of Prayer will be observed on Friday, March 5, with a 1 p.m. service at the First Baptist Church, 111 E. Second St.

Since there is so much need this year, we are taking a Food Pantry collection every week. If possible, please bring a non-perishable item each Sunday.

News and Events

“Second Saturdays” Gallery Walks starting in Dixon: Several downtown Dixon organizations have teamed up to offer a monthly gallery hop called “Second Saturdays Art Happenings” Each second Saturday various businesses will showcase art, music, and/or theater events. On the first Second Saturday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., St. Luke’s will offer organ music and will launch a new visual arts venue with paintings by Gordon Utley.

We need volunteers for Easter April 4th; clean-up before and after. Please email almassy1@almassy1.com 

We will hold lay-led Stations of the Cross at 5 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday during Lent, beginning on February 19.

Hope Greene’s exhibit “Dissolution” will be displayed at the Crystal Cork through May 2.
 
The Dixon Area Christian Ministerial Association invites you to attend the 2010 Lenten worship series on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.

Our next Prayer Breakfast will be on Saturday, March 20, beginning with Mass at 9:30, followed by breakfast at White Pines State Park lodge. All are welcome to join us; please let us know if you need a ride.
 
CAFÉ(Culture and Fun Elite) of Dixon, a group I started  for the purpose of bringing fun, affordable, educational and cultural trips has good seats to see Billy Elliot on JUNE 9, 2010,  Wednesday, matinee 2PM.  Please reserve and mark your calendars now.   Be one of the first ones to see this Broadway musical,  winner of 10 Tony Awards.  Music is by Elton John. It is a great graduation present, or an end of the school  year treat for you and your children (ages 8 yr. old and up). Our children especially,  need early exposure to the fine arts. 
You can  go to  the  Art Institute ; stroll  (or just sit )through  Millenium Park and Lurie Gardens , visit the historic Cultural Center and see the magnificent  Tiffany domes  all on your own .
